Epiphany Baby Gifts for Haven House - Extended to January 12
Update: A huge thanks to all those who brought diapers and wipes in to church on Sunday. If you had the best intentions but forgot...IT'S NOT TOO LATE! You can still bring in your donations on Sunday, December 12th. As always...you rock, St. Martin's!
Right after the twelve days of Christmas, we celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany January 6. On this day, we commemorate the visit of the Three Wise Men to worship the baby Jesus. They brought elaborate gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to honor the blessed child. Once again this year, the LIFT group is inviting you to join in a collection of gifts for babies in our community. We will be gathering diapers (any size, but they are normally in need of bigger sizes) and wipes during the 8am and 10am services on Sunday, January 5. All the items we collect will be donated to those in need at Haven House.
In Matthew’s gospel, Jesus tells us, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” While gold, frankincense and myrrh are gifts fit for a king, these baby gifts will truly help the youngest victims of domestic violence in our community.
