Today, July 16, 2010, we got up bright and early to go to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial. Going through it and seeing everything from the Jewish perspective was very depressing but it was also quite interesting just to see things the way they saw them. After the memorial, we heading back to the college for some free time to reflect on what we saw. After lunch, we headed towards a wall that goes between villages and towns, sometimes just to be mean. We then went to the top of the Mount of Olives and looked down upon all the graves there. It was great to see that even though many of the religions and races have much controversy, they are still brought together by the Mount of Olives. It is said that when Jesus comes back, He will go to the Mount of Olives first. As we continued descending the Mount of Olives, we went to the garden of Gethsemane. It was cool because I remember singing a song in youth choir about it and was singing it while we were there. The day was quite eventful and very interesting.

The Pilgrims

Our first visit today was to Yad Vashem – the Holocaust memorial in Jerusalem. No photos were allowed inside. Outside was a boxcar actually used to haul Jews to the concentration camps during World War II
